“Sado Island Galaxy Art Festival 2024” and “SADO Mirai Project” opening events will be held on 8/11 (Sun)
In the afternoon, there will be stage greetings from the movie “Sunflower Summer,” a screening of the film “Journey” by this year’s participating artist John Williams, watching traditional performing arts and Sado folk songs, and screening movies related to Niigata and Sado.
Admission is free, so be sure to invite everyone to come along.

Film “Sunflower Summer” screening/stage greetings
Director: Noto Tsuyoshi closely follows Mr. Ichiyama Nanajuro, the head of the Japanese dance city mountain school that has continued since the Edo period and holds an important
intangible cultural property of the country, and Mr. Shinbo Motohira, who is known as a lone swordsmith in Sado.
A documentary about the lives of two people who have continued to be responsible for Japanese culture. Also, the stage for the drama part where the four young people are active is Niigata. A girl who was chasing her dream of becoming a dancer lost her dream due to an accident in the middle of the road… Various people, dreams and thoughts resonate, and a new story begins to unfold. The director is Noto Tsuyoshi, who founded Niigata Soodori. An all-Niigata location filled with the appeal of Niigata’s people, culture, and climate.
