14.Uka Lion – Star-embroidered Boat, Galaxy Lion Dance

Nobuyuki Sugihara × Ayaka Nakamura(Japan)

A unit comprised of hat maker Ayaka Nakamura, whose work is connected to everyday life, and artist Nobuyuki Sugihara. We shape forms that embody the spirit of the land by piecing together fragments of its memory and perform improvised dance rituals inspired by this act of creation. By inheriting the culture of the land and reviving the rich spirituality and physicality that existed before the separation of life and art, we seek to evoke a culture where life and beauty exist together.
