Statement
"I am an artist and have worked as a brand director for everyday items. Creating demand for products that people choose is what I do for a living. I think of a brand as a "feel-good memory." It is the emotion behind our daily choices, a little dependency. As an artist living in the modern age, I am trying to create works that confront these "feel-good memories," evoke them, and allow people to experience them once again. This work was inspired by the gold mines of Sado Island. It was a place where people split the mountains in search of gold -- a place where such abnormal desire existed. From there, I imagined an old tale. It is a story that is funny, somewhat disturbing, but also endearing. Please enjoy."
